What do you want to learn from the book?
Obj: I can identify big ideas of the novel and connect them to real life situations.

Starter:
What are possible Socratic Seminar topics based off of ideas in ATTWN?
First, brainstorm the big ideas.
Then, use that information to create topics.

Vocabulary:
Socratic Seminar (noun)- a scholarly discussion of an essential question in which student opinions are shared, proven, refuted, and refined through dialogue with other students.

Activity: Come up with a topic for tomorrows seminar.

Activity:

1.        Small Group Discussion
At your tables discuss the ideas generated during the starter. 
Decide which ideas are most suitable for the Socratic Seminar.

2.        Voting
As a class, vote on topics for the Socratic Seminar being held tomorrow.

3.        Research
Individually, find credible sources that relate to the topic decided in class.
Make sure the sources, are relevant and credible.

4.        Share Resources
As a class, share websites that will be referenced in the seminar tomorrow.

5.        Read and Annotate
Read the articles that are assigned by the class.
Take notes.

6.        HOT Questions
Create higher order thinking questions that will be shared during the discussion.
